What are 4500/7500 hours of project management experience, how is it counted, and how should one gain it?

Your hours spent planning, leading, directing, controlling, monitoring, and managing project tasks or completed projects logged on your work responsibilities count toward project management experience. If you can, log an experience hour in a spreadsheet to document your experience.

For any deficiency, redo your work responsibilities and choose the time you spend on related activities like event management, group activities, and allied activities. If you are too young for a project role, wait a few months and build up enough hours to qualify to apply for the PMP.

Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) is the more suitable certification for you at this point. Suppose a professional cannot meet the PMP certification requirements. In that case, they can enter a project management role with the CAPM certification and later opt for the PMP certification once the relevant experience is gained.

      Step 2-  Register on the PMI site by creating an online account. You have to fill in your basic details here. Your offline PMI membership will prompt you to create an online account.

Note that you already have an online account and are registered, as mentioned in Step 2. If not, you can always register again from the login page.       While filling out the application details, if you need to look up some details, you can save them as a draft and revisit them when convenient. After the form is submitted, it is reviewed, and you are required to pay the fee (note, members are eligible for a fee discount).
      Once your application is approved, you must schedule your nearest exam slot and test centre location or opt for an online exam.
