The exam questions will be from the topics namely Agile principles and mindset, Value drive delivery, Stakeholder engagement, Continuous improvement, Team performance, Adaptive planning, Problem detection, and resolution.
It will be scenario-based but objective with 4 choices. There could be 2 or more right answers and you will have such options to select from. Therefore you need to get trained and attend mock exams to get ready to first interpret the questions.
Exam process
Once you apply with your credentials PMI will approve it upon verification. Then you have 90 days to enroll for the exam by choosing the date and making payment. After you choose the date you have 1 year to pass the test in 3 attempts. If you don’t qualify the first time then for each attempt you need to pay USD 395 but get a discount of 60 USD if you are a PMI member.
The exam is for 3 hours and you will have 120 questions. Passing score is not explicitly given by PMI but if you answer more than 70 answers correctly, then you qualify for the certificate. But 20 questions are pre-test and they are not counted for scoring. Therefore to be on the safer side if you give a minimum 84 right answers then you are safe.
Renewal
The certificate is valid for 36 months and then you need to renew it online with 60 PDUs and 150 USD. Members can pay only 60 USD but should submit PDUs for getting certified.
