They make sure the products are built in such a way that they meet customer satisfaction, which would ultimately help the company generate more profit.  

The CPO manages multiple product teams and ensures that each Product delivers meaningful value to the company's overall success by focusing on strategic product development, innovation, marketing, etc. The CPO ties all product efforts together in companies with multiple product lines to create a unified strategic vision. In small organisations, senior roles like VP, Product Manager, or head of Product often take on the responsibilities.
