  Agile Framework

  Introduction of Scrum

  Since Scrum has been around from many years, and is practiced by many around the world, it is still considered to be new way of development. As mentioned above Scrum is an agile process, focused on iterative and incremental development.

  
  

  Since development projects have increased in complexity to the point where having all the requirements being delivered in single go makes no sense and risking the actual requirement in the end as often the requirement keeps changing. Scrum was intended to solve this problem by having continuous feedback and tractability into the developmental process. Scrum emphasized more on collaboration, flexibility, Continuous feedback and self-organizing.  In this course, you will learn Scrum Framework, its roles, artifacts, events and working.

  User Stories

  A user story is a technique used in Agile software development to understand a requirement of a software feature under development from an end-user perception.   A user story is supposed to be small as possible. It has to be written by the product owner in the language of the customer so that it is clear to both the business and the development team what the customer requirements are. The development team’s job is to take care of how to develop the code that will satisfy the requirements of the user story. Ideally, development team’s work together with the product owners to understand the particulars as the code gets developed.

  Agile Estimation

  Usually in software development, an “estimate,” in the general, comprises of a calculative assessment of the effort required to perform a given development task; this is most frequently articulated in terms of sprint. The purpose is to collect various such individual estimations so as to accomplish an indication of the overall time, work or cost of a software project.

  
  

  Always remember estimates are usually not the same as commitments. Also an estimate is not the final answer; it basically reflects the information that was on hand during the time of communication. An estimate can always be modified in case of any changes are done to the requirement be it more or less.   Value Based Prioritization

  Usually scrum uses Value-based Prioritization as one of the fundamental principles that drives the building and functionality of the complete Scrum framework. Often following points are considered wrt to how the user stories are considered as value, Risk and dependencies. The more the value, risk and dependency a particular user story has, it will always have the maximum priority.   Agile Planning

  It is usually done to set the expectation. In general it’s used to determine the pace at which the team can deliver the user stories into a ready to use working model. It is a method in which we can evaluate the amount of work we can complete within a given amount of time frame (sprints). Sprints usually are of 2-4 weeks in which a squad focuses on set of work items, and aims to complete them.

  Agile Monitoring

  Agile Monitoring is effective method at all levels and the preemptive dialogue within the team and with the management. The purpose of project monitoring is to create comfort to the management. Everyone within the team and management should be convinced that the project is well on track and should feel knowledgeable about the overall status of the project.

  Retrospective

  As the name suggest looking back on or dealing with past events or situations. Retrospective is an important part of the agile work model. It usually occurs after completion of each sprint and before the start of the next sprint. The time for the sprint may vary from half an hour to 3 hours depending on the duration of the sprint. The Scrum Master confirms that the event takes place and each member of the team understands its purpose. This is the time team reflects upon its performance and looks to improve as a team. The team as whole tries to focus on what went well, what could be improved upon and what did not go well.

  Extreme Programming

  It is a software development model which is intended to improve software quality and responsiveness as per the changing request of the customers.   The model takes its name from the idea that the valuable elements of traditional software engineering practices are taken to extreme levels. The concepts such as Pair Programming and different techniques of Extreme Programming are taught to implement and execute in 2 day course of PMI ACP

  Lean

  ACP works on the Lean Principles which is based on the fundamental that focus on the cost of resources for achieving the vision rather than developing something that is not much useful or valuable to the customer. This approach eliminates the waste, strengthens knowledge, promotes decision making only after we have all the facts in place, fast and frequent delivery and looks at the bigger picture. So, in this course, you will learn about Lean in detail as in how to implement Lean Mindset at enterprise level and so on.

  Soft Skills and Communication Skills

  For the success of any project, communication is the key. We have to be prompt and crisp in our communication specially while communicating with the client. Whether we are on track in achieving the goal or not, it has to be well communicated. Also, Soft skills such as negotiation, collaboration, leadership skills, and problem solving skills are quintessential for project success.   Risk Management

  The primary goals of Project Risk Management are objectives of Project Risk Management are to surge the likelihood and effect of positive actions and cut down the likelihood and effect of actions argumentative to the project.
