It is good to complete the foundation course to appear for practitioner training. However, you can apply for both together. In that event, after completing the exam you will be offered only with a practitioner certificate.

Foundation Exam
It is an online examination with 60 multiple choice questions and you will be given 60 minutes to complete the test. Closed book examination and referring in any form is prohibited. You must get at least 33 correct answers to pass the examination.
Practitioner Exam
It is an open book examination with 68 MCQs and is expected to be completed in 150 minutes with a passing score of 38.
The pass percentage for getting certified both levels is 55%.
You need to get trained and then it becomes easy to give the examination. All you need is a total of 2 weeks to prepare and write the examination.
Peoplecert is the institute recognized by PRINCE2 globally and you can take your exam from this institute. You can register with them and get online access to take the test from your system with a webcam, and a microphone.
There are two levels namely the PRINCE2 foundation and practitioner certification with different prerequisites.
PRINCE2 foundation course does not demand any prerequisites but just have some basic knowledge about project management.
On the other hand, to apply for the PRINCE2 practitioner course you must have completed any of the following certifications and must submit the proof.
To renew the validity you must retake the exam. Otherwise maintain your membership by becoming a member within 3 months of passing the exam. Retain your digital badge and record 20 CPD every year to easily extend the badge validity on renewal. Then you can quickly renew the certificate without retaking the examination.

You can choose an e-learning license to be valid for 1, 3 or 12 months.

Practitioner Exam
